Character education (Personal, social, and health education, British values, citizenship, and relationships and sex education) is delivered through various strands including:  2 x 25 minute Character Education lessons per week with form tutors, These lessons are sequenced appropriately to meet the demands of each age phase and align to statutory guidance. The lessons are embedded within a hybrid curriculum, offering a blend of face-to-face delivery and interactive delivery via ‘The Talk’ PSHE Platform: <https://thetalk.org.uk/about-us/>
We ensure that our students experience a breadth of opportunities to enhance their personal development across Year 7-11, some of these opportunities are: Raising Aspirations days (RAD), tutor time, Futures (CEIAG), reflection time, collective worship, leadership roles, cross-curricular input, information evenings, personal guidance, assemblies & visiting speakers, participation in national events, virtual and in-person work experience placements (KS4) and service to the community. Character education comprises PSHE, citizenship and relationships and sex education, these are categorised into 3 main areas within the curriculum overview: ‘Health & Wellbeing’, ‘Living in the wider world’ and ‘Relationships’. The school website contains information and links to information about character education.
