Dear Parent/Carer
We are delighted that your child has been offered a place at the academy starting with us on 6th September 2022.
On Thursday 30th June & Friday 1st July your child will need to arrive at the front reception of the academy at 8.20am for a prompt start at 8.30am and will be dismissed from there at 3.00pm on Thursday and 1.15pm on Friday. They should attend in their normal school uniform, but bring their PE kit with them for the transition days. On these days they will enjoy various curriculum activities, including engaging with each other in the year group for the first time around several team building exercises and opportunities within a competition framework.
Lunch will be available in the academy diner at no cost to you, to enable your child to sample the academy lunch on Thursday (normally £2.55). Alternatively a packed lunch can be brought from home.
We invite you and your child to return to the academy for the Induction Evening on Thursday 30th June at 5:00pm. This will enable us to share with you our expectations and aspirations for the future within the academy, and for you to meet with key academy staff, including your child’s tutors and fellow tutees as well as the rest of the Year 7 tutor team.
We would also like to take your child’s photograph for academy use and may produce a short video. If you have any objections to this please indicate this on the consent form. Please complete the Data collection and Fitness Suite consent forms. Please can this form be completed before the student’s join us in September.
The academy operates a cashless catering system in the diner for which cards will be issued in September. Lunch will be available from the diner on the first day and you should ensure you have added money to the Parentpay account if required, unless they are entitled to a free school meal, which will, of course be provided. You will need to activate your ParentPay account online; details of your new log on will be sent to you by email. All payments for trips, visits and resources are also cashless and paid online with your cashless account.
You will be able to download our exciting Arbor App for easy access to information on how your child is progressing in school. Further details are available on our website and you can register for this now.
Regular progress reports are issued for all students at the academy and once a year a Profile Report. We will be sending student reports, as well as other letters of correspondence via email or the Parent Portal App. I would be grateful if you would ensure you complete your email address on the data collection information form, together with mobile contact numbers for text messages. Please keep us informed immediately of any changes to your personal information via the Arbor app or to email [email protected] or telephone us. .
