10th July 2026
Dear Parents/Carers
As we approach the end of the academic year, I am writing to share some important updates regarding our final day arrangements and our plans for a full reopening this coming September.
End of Summer Term Arrangement
Please note that students will have a slightly earlier finish time on our final day, Friday 17th July. Students will be dismissed from the academy at 12.10pm.
September Reopening Schedule
In September, we will operate our usual staggered start to the school year. This is vital to allow our new Year 7 students to settle into the building and build confidence in their new surroundings as the “Class of 2031” begins their secondary education. We also require our Year 11 students to return on this first day as they enter their crucial final year at the Academy.
Students must arrive at their usual line-up area according to the following schedule:
- Thursday 3rd September at 8.15am: Year 7 and Year 11 students only
- Friday 4th September at 8.15am: All year groups return
Changes to the Academy Day
To ensure we meet the Department for Education (DfE) statutory guidelines of a 32.5-hour school week, we have made minor adjustments to our daily schedule. We have extended student break times by 5 minutes, which consequently pushes our final dismissal times back by 5 minutes each day.
The new, permanent dismissal times for the academic year are as follows:
- Monday: 3.45pm
- Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday: 2.45pm
- Friday: 1.15pm
As part of the Government’s summer campaign, they have launched an attraction finder website which allows families to type in their postcode and find participating venues near them to make the most of summer savings. To use the attraction finder, please visit https://summersavings.gov.uk. . Please also check out our latest news on our website for other activities available.
Thank you once again for your ongoing support throughout this year. I wish you all a safe, restful, and happy summer break. A more detailed letter will be sent to you in August to help you fully prepare for the September start.
As always, we will use our official communication channels to keep you continually updated. Our website (https://tsla.co.uk/) remains the best place to access all critical information and contacts. You can also find regular updates on our Academy Facebook and Instagram accounts.
Yours sincerely
