House RAD We’re a Knockout Event
Dear Parent / Carer
On Wednesday 9th July 2025, the ‘House RAD- We’re a Knockout’ event will be taking place in the academy. Students in Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 will be partaking in the ‘We’re a Knockout’ inflatable assault course where we are inviting an external organisation to provide our students with an exciting day of fun. On the consent form is a health and safety declaration that is required for all students to take part.
If students have not had this consent declaration form completed by a parent/carer and the form submitted to the academy, then unfortunately they will not be able to participate in this part of the day.
This is to be completed online by Monday 7th July.
The nature of these events is practical, therefore, students will need to arrive at the academy wearing their full academy PE kit.
The purpose of this house event is rewarding students that have demonstrated good attitude to
learning from last half term. Students should meet a specific criteria which takes into account;
suspensions, demerits, detentions, attendance and internal isolation. If students have not met this criteria, they will be unable to take part in the ‘Were a Knockout’ event and will participate in alternative activities. Students and parents/ carers will be informed if they have not met this criteria and even if consent has previously been given, they will NOT be able to take part.
Declaration for participation, please consent that you have read the information below, by clicking the declaration link Declaration form

Safety Code of Practice during the We’re a Knockout Games
Every effort has been made to maintain the safe use of the inflatables in accordance with Sections 2-6 of the Health and Safety at Act Work etc Act 1972 and the Amusement Devices Inspection Procedures Scheme (ADIPS).
It must be recognised that the use of such equipment does present each competitor with an additional exposure to risk. The use of inflatables within the knockout tournament is by its very nature boisterous. Whilst we take steps to keep this to a minimum we cannot exclude it entirely, you therefore must recognise the risk of injury and are volunteering to accept that risk in taking part.
As a result a Safety Code of Practice has been drawn up under the guidance of ADIPS for the conduct of
participants whilst using inflatables.
It is mandatory that each participant must sign this sheet in order to declare they have read the Code of
Practice prior to commencing the activities. Any participant under the age of 18 will not be allowed to take
part in the We’re a Knockout competition without the consent and counter signature of a parent or guardian.
Prior to commencing the We’re a Knockout games, every competitor MUST carry out a warm up routine under the guidance to the We’re a Knockout team and MUST be present at the safety briefing.
Safety Code of Practice/Consent Form
- If you are suffering from any known heart or respiratory problems you MUST NOT participate in any of the activities.
- If at any time you feel faint or breathless during the activities you must stop immediately.
- You must be in good health and physically fit at the time of the games in order to be an active participant.
- No footwear can be used on the inflatables except flat soled training shoes.
- Any hard, sharp, dangerous objects (buckles, pens, purses, badges, jewellery etc) must be removed prior to taking part.
- No food or drink must be consumed in or around the inflatables. We’re A Knockout liability insurers do not consider themselves liable for any loss arising where participants are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
- No participant must deliberately obstruct the path of another participant whilst on the inflatables.
- Participants must not climb onto or hang on the side walls of the inflatables.

- Entry points and exit points of the inflatables must be kept clear at all times.
- One way travel over the inflatables must be adhered to as demonstrated by the We’re a Knockout team prior to each game.
- It is the responsibility of every participant to maintain a sensible approach to their conduct whilst on the inflatables not only for their own safety but for the safety of others using the inflatables at the same time.
