Our Academy’s not on its own when it comes to having a clear vision and values – so does the Trust supporting us.
The St Lawrence Academies Trust is spearheaded by a familiar face to parents and reassuring presence, my predecessor Mike Adnitt.
Established over the summer, it has just launched its website which can be accessed here or from Mr Adnitt’s introduction on the home page of this site.
On the website, you can meet the Trust’s team and read about its vision and core values of community, integrity, aspiration, and hope.
From an Academy perspective, we are delighted to be the Trust’s originating school and looking forward to playing a supportive role in its growth.
We will be stronger together.
Next week, we will be holding our leadership assemblies where we will reward those students who applied for the various roles.
The assemblies are looked forward to by staff and students alike.
I would also like to highlight a ‘first’ for the Academy.
One of our students will design the Bishop of Lincoln’s Christmas card, the first time we have been chosen by the diocese to do so.
Students will be using tutor time, after school and art classes to create their ideas. Three will win vouchers and the Bishop will chose the winner from that shortlist.
Two weeks ago, I mentioned the first rewards trip to the cinema on 18th November for Years 7 and 8. Those who have made an outstanding commitment and produced great work will be going.
We have extended the rewards scheme further to include Years 9, 10 and 11. The benchmark for enjoying a similar morning at the pictures will be explained to those year groups next week.
Finally, I would just like to offer an extended thank you to those families who came to our Year 6 Open Evening.
More than 200 gave us their details and we have had some brilliant feedback on what we could offer their children in 2022.
We are, just like our Trust, looking forward.
